ILS Water Safety

The ISA Instructor Aquatic Rescue and Safety Course is designed for ISA Surf and SUP Instructors to fulfill the Rescue Award requirement for coaching accreditation. This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, along with group discussions and activities.

While this course offers a basic introduction to First Aid and Rescue, we recommend pursuing additional training for a more in-depth understanding in the future.

Course
Components

The course includes both theory and practical elements:

- Theory: Includes a PowerPoint presentation and an exam based on the Participant Workbook.

- Practical: Covers basic water and surf skills, rescue techniques, CPR, emergency care, and a basic fitness test.

The course lasts 2-3 days, during which training and assessments will be conducted.

Upon completing the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, valid for two years.

To maintain certification, a Proficiency Assessment (refresher) must be taken within this period to stay updated on techniques and demonstrate continued proficiency.

In many regions, CPR and fitness requirements may need to be renewed annually to meet local standards.
